Twitch launches new chat history tool
Do you know when you get to a channel on Twitch and the chat is in full swing and you don’t know what exactly it’s about? Those days are finally over! Amazon’s streaming platform has officially launched a new tool: Chat History.
This week, Twitch launched Chat History for all channels, a tool that allows viewers to check what was going on in the channel’s conversation before they entered the broadcast.
The viewer will be able to see the last 50 chat messages or those that happened in the last hour of the channel’s conversation before entering the live. The choice is automatic, depending on the option with the fewest messages.
The official launch of Chat History took place this Monday (06), for a few channels, and during the week it will be gradually distributed to all of Twitch.
📢 Starting today we’ll be rolling out Chat History for everyone!

Catch up with what’s happening on the channel – chat will load the last 50 messages or last hour of chat, whichever is less.
This rollout will happen over the next few days, don’t panic if you can’t see it yet 💜
Twitch’s new tools
Chat History is just one of the many new features that Twitch has been implementing on its platform to further improve the service, both for streamers and viewers.
Among the most recently announced tools are the possibility of anonymous reactions; supporting charities through fundraising campaigns; more dynamic management of ads in the channel; the Guest Star tool, which allows up to 5 guests with a camera in a live stream and, of course, the already popular Shield Mode, which aims to protect the streamer from hate attacks in the chat.
Monetization is even one of the main focuses of Twitch for 2023. The platform promises to offer a better division of ad revenue with its streamers, in addition to offering better sponsorships for small creators, making live streams more profitable even for the smallest channels.
