Billy Bumbum

Billy Bumbum: a crazy, fun and challenging puzzle game

If the popular animation Adventure Time had a son with a puzzle game, that son would certainly be Billy Bumbum. The title, developed by Frambosa Games, is a crazy and fun adventure in a universe of puzzles that is often quite challenging.

Your power is in your butt

The premise of Billy Bumbum is simple: we venture into a world of geometric creatures and a kind of “mother dragon” (which here is just a head), who were kidnapped by evil forces and the only one who managed to escape was Billy. Yes, thanks to the power of your butt.

Your mission here is to rescue the geometric creatures and to do this you need to solve some puzzles, which consist of taking Billy, who is a cube (the dragon’s butt), from one point to another on the map, which is divided into squares, like a chessboard.

Here comes the trick: with each step taken forward, the previous space disappears, preventing the player from returning along that path and to pass the stage, it is necessary to reach the final point with Billy’s back. That’s right: with his butt, which is apparently indestructible.

Billy Bumbum’s humor is the highlight of the game. Mixing a bit of irony, sarcasm, acidity and even simpler humor (after all, farts are always funny), the game seems to have come from the crazy mind behind stories like Adventure Time.

Billy Bumbum’s friends

As you progress through the game, through its more than 250 levels spread across eight very colorful worlds, Billy also rescues the rest of the “dragon’s body”, which are his other cube friends.

With this, interactions are unlocked between Billy and his cube friends. There are also items scattered throughout the stages that also add more interactions to the game’s story.

Many minds think better than one

Despite being a single player game, the streamer can take advantage of his livestream to have help from his chat in more challenging moments of the game.

This adds a very interesting layer of interaction with the audience, which goes beyond watching the streamer overcome the challenges and the good humor of Billy Bumbum’s story (and the fart moments when going through each of the stages).

This help can also be essential to avoid making broadcasts dull or boring, if the streamer is stuck for a long time in a more complicated phase. This danger is also something that slightly reduces the game’s Replay Factor, as it can alienate players who are unable to progress in the game.

The game’s potential for great live broadcasts is huge and can guarantee good hours of livestream, of course, if the streamer and his audience are admirers of puzzle games.

Testing the PC version on Steam, Billy Bumbum had no problems running. Some small bugs were introduced, especially when played on the Steam Deck, but nothing that hinders the title’s gameplay.

Billy Bumbum is a really great title for gamers and streamers who like a good brain challenge, but with a good sense of humor that softens even the most difficult puzzles.

A curiosity about Billy Bumbum

Many of you maymust arrive at Billy Bumbum and come across somewhat strange names, including Bumbum himself. Let’s explain: the game’s designer, Jonathan Barbosa, is Dutch-Brazilian and in Portuguese, bumbum is one of the many names given to the buttocks region. Bunda is another of these words that also appears in the game, as the name of the first region on the map.
