MultiVersus announces new PvE mode: Rifts
Off the air since June 2023, the MultiVersus game is preparing to return to action and announced this Thursday (16) a new PvE mode, called Rifts.
Rifts bring different gameplay to normal PvP mode and offer players themed challenges with battle modifiers, making battles more dynamic and challenging, and also a great way to improve gaming skills.
How Rifts work in MultiVersus
While in normal PvP mode, the gameplay is standard brawler-style games, inspired by Super Smash Bros., a popular Nintendo franchise, Rifts consist of a sequence of battles with mini-games and boss battles.
Each Rift will have a seasonal theme, bringing new skins, new maps, modifiers and even new characters.
MultiVersus’ PvE mode can be played solo or cooperatively, bringing friends together to help overcome challenges and share the rewards.
“For us, MultiVersus has always strived to give the player the utmost flexibility to create unique moments of combat joy. Our goal is to expand the tools of gameplay creativity and we utilized that same perspective when building the Rifts Mode”, stated developer Player First Games on the game’s official website.
Improve your character and beat the bosses
Beating the bosses of each of the Rifts can be a somewhat difficult task and so the player can count on a little help in the form of Gems.
Each player has 3 slots to equip Gems to venture into the Rifts. There are three types of Gems: Attack, Defense and Utility. Each of these Gems will also have effects related to the Rifts season theme, in the first season the theme is Chaos.
Gems also have different rarity levels and can be obtained in different ways, including through the Battle Pass.
The new PvE mode debuts in MultiVersus alongside the game’s return on May 28, and developer Player First Games hopes to surprise players with Rifts’ unique experiences.
The developer also announced that new mini-games and battle modifiers will be added to the game in the future, in each season.
