Fortnite Chapter 5

Fortnite: Chapter 5 – All new, once again!

After a super successful Season OG, with the game’s original map back, Fortnite now looks ahead and brings lots of new features in its latest update, which starts Chapter 5 of the Epic Games battle royale.

After The Big Bang, an end-of-season event, which took place this Saturday, December 2nd, with a concert by rapper Eminem, Fortnite began its Chapter 5 the following day, introducing a new island and many other new features for players.

Fortnite Underground

The first season of Chapter 5 of Fortnite is called Underground and brings, in addition to a new island full of new points of interest, new gameplay, new NPCs and even new character animations.

Among the new character additions, which come to the game as bosses on the island and also (some) as Battle Pass skins, are Oscar, Nisha, Tozzi, Valeria and Peter Griffin, from the animated series Family Guy.

Upon defeating them during the match, the player will receive a Society Medallion, which periodically regenerates Shield if kept in the inventory. However, when keeping Medallions in your inventory, your location will appear on your opponents’ map and the more Medallions you have in your inventory, the more accurate your location will be on the map.

And speaking of shields, the new Fortnite chapter also brings a new defense item: the Ballistic Shield. Equipped with a pistol, the Ballistic Shield protects the player with infinite health while firing the pistol at the same time.

But be careful! The Ballistic Shield can only take a certain amount of damage until it temporarily leaves the player’s path.

Modify weapons

The new chapter now features Mod Benches, which improve weapons in exchange for gold bars.

Modifications include reduced recoil, increased capacity and much more. But be aware: not all modifications are compatible with all weapons.

Additionally, new weapons, items and fruits are part of the Fortnite arsenal: Hammer Pump ShotgunFrenzy Auto ShotgunNemesis ARStriker ARThunder Burst SMGHyper SMGReaper Sniper Rifle, Ranger Pistol, Grapple Blade, Cluster Clinger and the FlowBerry.

Tasks and Missions

While Quests in Fortnite remain the same, Daily Tasks have been replaced and are now known as Match Quests. With each new match, the player can choose between three specific tasks and they are individual, without the possibility of contribution from teammates.

Improved visuals

Continuing its graphical improvement, Chapter 5 of Fortnite brought new character animations, which has been a point of discussion among players of Epic Games’ battle royale.

According to the developer, Fortnite now has Motion Matching and Procedural Layering on all platforms, improving character animations in various situations.

There is also the addition of Physics Based Animations on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. With this feature, characters falling onto the island and hang gliding animations will be more detailed.

Lego on Fortnite

Finally, Epic Games also announced a Fortnite collaboration with Lego. More than 1.200 skins in the game received their Lego version, which will be added free of charge to the inventory of those who already have the normal version of the skin.

New Lego skins will be added frequently.

The game will also have a new adventure in collaboration with Lego, starting on December 7th.
