Oblivion Override brings frenetic action and fun to your community
It’s no secret that the roguelike/Roguelite genre works very well for livestreams, but we must also remember that some work much better than others and Oblivion Override brought me a big surprise when I played it on my channel.
Visually it is charming with its art direction and amazing character movement and quickly managed to entertain my audience quite a bit.
Oblivion Override: Easy to play and easy to follow
Something that I always find most important in a game to bring to a live stream is how easy my audience will find it to follow the gameplay: if it’s too slow it’s hard to engage, if it’s too frantic no one understands anything.
In Oblivion Override there is a good balance. It pulls a bit from the “Dead Cells” idea, so it is a frenetic game, but it has a more contained speed, allowing anyone who comes to my channel have a easier time to follow the adventure.
In it’s gameplay, the game teaches you the basics quickly, not taking too much time from the player in a tutorial, which allows you to destroy everything in your path as quickly as possible. This is excellent for me!
When looking for a roguelike/roguelite, I like that the game takes me through the game quickly and doesn’t have a lot of text or story, but can still tell a good narrative during play. There are plenty of games of this genre that do this spectacularly.
Its controls are responsive and easy to learn, allowing the player to entertain his or her audience quickly, without getting too lost in tutorials.
High difficulty can be an attraction for your broadcast
Its difficulty is a bit high, which is to be expected for the genre, but with every small victory, boss defeated, or new area discovered, it becomes a great reason to celebrate. The bosses have good patterns to read and learn, so the game punishes lack of skill more than luck.
There are a good number of weapons and skills, but not so varied yet. However, it is important to note that the game is in early access and will receive future updates with more content.
Having currently two playable characters and a good amount of enemies, even in its incomplete state it is still possible to get hours of fun out of it and bring it back into your channel with each new content update.
The game was tested in the STEAM version, and is in early access, ran without problems on my machine and during the live, seems to be well optimized. However, the game only has the English, Japanese and Chinese languages, which limits a bit for some people.

Oblivion Override is a nice surprise for fans of the genre and fans of frenetic action games, it has huge potential and makes us curious for what the future holds for the title.
