Yet Another Fantasy Title: An adventure that doesn’t take itself too seriously
In Yet Another Fantasy Title, you are set in a fantasy world, in the middle of a medieval atmosphere. You play as a character who is far from the archetypal hero: he’s far from handsome, he’s rather plain, but everything depends on him, and that’s already a sign that you’re really in a game that makes fun of the codes of this kind of universe.
Become the new Prince in Yet Another Fantasy Title
After accidentally killing the prince who was supposed to be the chosen one by defeating the dragon to bring peace and serenity back to the kingdom, your mission is to take his place, but the road to getting there will be strewn with pitfalls, with quests that are far from heroic and fairly repetitive, but fun nonetheless, because once again the game doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The characters you meet are failed look-alikes of what you’d find in these worlds, but that’s deliberate, and everything is done to draw out the features to the extreme, so overall you’re in for a good time, with the impression that you’re evolving like in the old GTAs. You can be chased by the police on horseback, and when they’re on the alert, a siren goes off, along with the flashing beacon, everything is out of sync. If you don’t want to be chased anymore, you can stop in a garage, as you did in the aforementioned game.
Your empty, charisma-free character can learn a whole host of spells to defeat his enemies, from Grindalf or by activating quests with the pnjs who give them to you.
Humour is omnipresent and totally deliberate; the developers have let loose on this point and it shows.
Can its offbeat humour hold it back?
Thanks to its humour and its colourful and rather beautiful world in terms of graphics and artistic production, the game can arouse the interest of spectators, even if certain bugs can mar the experience, I’m thinking in particular of the driving of the horse, which as soon as it bumps into a wall, it’s difficult to get rid of, so nothing serious to enjoy the game.
It’s a shame, though, because in a medieval fantasy world, you’d have loved to play in a noisy tavern where glasses clink together. Just a personal taste ^^
Overall, Yet Another Fantasy Title, as its name suggests, has no title, to indicate to players that everything will be taken lightly to pay an original tribute to fantasy works. This will appeal to viewers who want a no-holds-barred game and a good laugh at the missions and plot put forward by Atomic Wolf, the Polish studio behind the title.
