VCT23 LOCK//IN becomes the championship with the second highest audience in Valorant’s history

The year 2023 already has the first international champion of “Valorant”: Fnatic. The European team won VCT23 LOCK//IN, a tournament that took place in São Paulo, Brazil, and became the championship with the second highest audience in the history of the Riot Games’ FPS.

The VCT23 LOCK//IN officially opened the eSports season of “Valorant” and had its grand finale last Saturday (04), with Fnatic beating the Brazilians from LOUD, current world champions.

The dispute attracted a huge audience, both in person and online. With a packed arena in São Paulo, the VCT23 LOCK//IN final attracted more than 1.4 million viewers on all streaming platforms, according to a report by the StreamCharts website.

The number puts the tournament behind only the 2022 “Champions”, which attracted more than 1.5 million viewers. The championship took place in Turkey and enshrined the LOUD team as champions.

According to the StreamCharts report, VCT23 LOCK//IN was broadcast by several channels, more than 200, on different streaming platforms, and the event as a whole achieved a total of 44.1 million hours watched in more than 102 hours of streaming.

The average viewers, adding all platforms, was 432,596 users.

The Brazilian team LOUD was the most watched in the tournament, with around 14 million hours watched in their matches. Transmissions in Portuguese were also the highlight of the championship, reaching a peak of 543.1 thousand viewers.

Despite this, it was the American streamer Tarik who stood out among the creators who broadcasted VCT23 LOCK//IN. According to data from the StreamCharts website report, Tarik alone conquered 7.4 million hours watched and a peak of 190.5 thousand concurrent users.

For comparison purposes, the official “Valorant” English channel had 6.2 million hours watched during the tournament period.
