Valorant: What’s new for Episode 7

Those who played Episode 6 of Valorant were able to enjoy several new features in Riot Games’ FPS, including a new character, Gekko, and the arrival of the beta version of Premier, the entry platform to the professional competitive world of the game.

Now, with Episode 7 just around the corner, Riot Games has revealed some of the new features players can expect in Valorant. And from what has been announced, content is what the game’s streamers will not lack.

What’s next in Valorant

New game mode

In a short video, just over 4 minutes, Anna Donlon, executive producer of Valorant, and Andy Ho, executive director of the game, announced what’s to come in Riot Games’ FPS. And the first novelty is something already expected by players: the Team Deathmatch mode.

The highly anticipated new Team Deathmatch mode, which serves as a group Deathmatch, will be implemented in the game in Episode 7.

According to Andy Ho, the new mode will have a fast-paced game style, with all weapons and agents available, including their abilities. The announcement also revealed that new maps are being developed especially for the Team Deathmatch mode.

Despite the announcement, Riot Games did not give further details on how the new mode will work in the game, but rumors point to a dispute between two teams, where whoever arrives first in 100 kills wins. In Valorant, the Team Deathmatch mode should be called HURM.

New agents

In early 2023, Riot Games promised three new agents in Valorant, with the first of them, Gekko, revealed during VCT23 LOCK//IN, a championship that took place in São Paulo, Brazil.

In the video of the news of Episode 7 of the game, it was revealed, then, the next two agents of Valorant: a Sentinel and a Duelist.

The Sentinel should also arrive in Episode 7 and had a small preview shown in the video:

The Duelist agent, according to Anna Donlon, will arrive in Valorant towards the end of the year.

New ways to unlock content

As a free-to-play game with microtransactions, playing to unlock cosmetic content and new playable characters are important ways for the player to interact with Valorant. And in Episode 7, new ways to unlock in-game content will be introduced.

Without revealing too many details, Andy Ho stated that players will have a new tool to unlock content from previous Battle Passes, as well as an updated way to unlock agents and their exclusive items.

Episode 7 arrives in Valorant on June 27th.
