Twitch launches stories function on its mobile app
As previously announced, stories have arrived on the Twitch mobile app. The tool, already known by users of practically all current social networks, arrives on Amazon’s live streaming platform as a new communication tool between the streamer and their audience.
The format of the stories on Twitch follows the standard already known to the public: short vertical videos with a limited duration. Here, stories will be available for 48 hours, unlike the 24 hours that are more common in other applications.
As announced by Twitch, stories are now available to partner and affiliated streamers who have broadcast live in the last 30 days. The functionality will be gradually made available in the future to all users of the platform.
Stories on Twitch
Just like on other social networks, stories on Twitch will also aim to connect the streamer more quickly with their audience, whether for announcements regarding their broadcasts or for other interactions.
With stories, the streamer can share short videos, images and even text, with a good range of customization options. Channels with more than 30 subscribers in the last 30 days, including gift subscriptions, will be able to create specific stories for their subscribers, increasing the benefits of channel subscription with exclusive content.
A notification will be sent to channel followers every time a new story is published. There is even a new option for configuring story notifications in the Twitch app.
The platform has also announced that it is already working on new tools for stories, such as polls and mentions from other profiles.
