Twitch: Kai Cenat becomes first African-American streamer to reach 200,000 subscribers
Confirming his growing popularity, streamer Kai Cenat reached the milestone of 200,000 subscribers on Twitch, making him the first African-American streamer to reach that number.
The achievement came during Kai Cenat‘s marathon to gain more subscribers for his channel. Now, Kai is only the 3rd streamer to reach 200,000 subscribers on the Amazon platform.
With the subscriber marathon still underway, Kai Cenat has already surpassed the 210,000 subscriber mark on Twitch. The streamer’s current goal is to reach 211,000 subscribers.
Twitch Subscriber Records
Despite the historical conquest, Kai Cenat is still far from breaking the record for the most subscribers on his Twitch channel, which is Kai’s ultimate goal since he started his Subathon, as the live stream marathon to gain subscribers is known on the Amazon platform.
Currently in 3rd place, Kai Cenat has yet to overcome two other big names in the game streaming scenario: Ninja and Ludwig.
Ninja’s record was achieved in April 2018, when the streamer was still on Twitch predominantly playing “Fortnite”. The streamer’s subscriber count at the time was over 269,000 users, making his channel the second-largest by number of subscribers on the Amazon platform.
However, the leadership really belongs to Ludwig. The American streamer isn’t even on Twitch anymore, but his subscriber record still dominates the platform.
There were more than 283,000 subscribers to his Twitch channel in April 2021, months before the streamer left the Amazon platform to perform his live streamings on YouTube, a change that happened in November of the same year.
