Twitch has a new lead streamer in August

While Twitch and Kick are vying for the attention of streamers and the public, the live streaming scene is changing and on Amazon’s platform, still the largest today, there is a new leader in August: tarik.

With xQc, normally the leader on Twitch, and other top streamers now focused on Kick, tarik took over as the most popular streamer on the Amazon platform in August.

Supported by his coverage of Valorant Champions 2023, tarik ended the month of August with 10.8 million hours watched, according to data from the StreamCharts website. The American streamer secured the top of the month, but not by much: Gaules, a popular Brazilian streamer, ended August with 9.9 million hours watched and could be the name to dispute the title of most popular streamer on Twitch along with tarik.

The third place in the eighth month of 2023 went to the German Eliasn97, who achieved a total of 8.6 million hours watched.

GTA V remains the most popular game on Twitch

Despite the changes in the Top 10 most popular streamers on Twitch, among games, the Top 10 didn’t seem to change much, with GTA V once again securing the top spot.

Still supported by its return to Xbox Game Pass, GTA V remained the most popular game title on Twitch in August with a total of 102.44 million hours watched.

The number, although still huge, represents a drop of 24% compared to the previous month.

The highlight of August was the debut of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Top 10 of the most popular games on Twitch, with a total of 45.53 million hours watched in the month.
