Twitch grows in active channels in November

Another month of 2023 came to an end and in November, Twitch saw growth in its active channels and average viewers. Despite this, Amazon’s live streaming platform lost in total hours watched.

Reversing the result from October, in November Twitch’s audience fell by 4%, reaching 1.714 billion hours watched.

The drop in the monthly total of hours watched, according to the website StreamsCharts, was due to the end of the tournament season for the game Dota 2, one of the most popular MOBAs today and which always attracts large audiences on Twitch.

Growth of channels on Twitch

Despite the fallno total of hours watched, Twitch saw growth in its active channels in November, a result also opposite to that recorded in October.

In the penultimate month of 2023, Amazon’s live streaming platform recorded a total growth of 6% in its number of active channels, reaching 4,679,945 active channels.

This growth was also reflected in the Peak of Active Channels and the Average of Active Channels, which reached, respectively, 147,462 and 94,674, representing growth of 7% and 5% in relation to the previous month.

The most watched games

Among the most popular games on Twitch, League of Legends once again took first place, despite recording a drop in its total hours watched in November.

Riot Games’ MOBA attracted a lot of audience, especially during the broadcasts of Worlds 2023, its world championship, reaching an audience of 2.5 million people during the tournament.

The highlight of the month, however, was Fortnite, which found itself back at the top of Twitch after the start of the successful Season OG, which brought back the game’s original map.

For comparison purposes, in October, Fortnite ended the month in 10th place, with a total of 37.7 million hours watched. In November, Epic Games’ popular battle royale ended the month with 115.8 million hours watched, second only to League of Legends on Twitch’s list of most watched games.
