The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature has great artwork, but a short runtime
The well-known tale of Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley has had numerous adaptations, whether for the cinema or used as a reference for many games, and “The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature” is an adaptation of this tale for video games, but adding interactivity so that the player somehow participates in the story.
The game has a very simple gameplay, without any complexity, and this is not a problem because here, the focus is to create an environment to tell a story and also to give some interactivity to give immersion, so the player, for the most part, will only see himself walking and interacting with specific points of the scenarios.
The look of the game has an environment that is made with textures that simulate a painting, here everything looks like an illustration and wherever the player goes there is something to contemplate. The sound work, despite being simple, has songs that try to move emotions to accompany the situations that Victor Frankenstein’s creation goes through along its journey.
Focus on the story, despite being short
In the story, you start controlling a creature, wrapped in its hood and that doesn’t know very well what is happening or where it is. After that, the game guides the player to advance the story. And there are some points that the player needs to choose what to do and that can lead him down a slightly different path. Here the story forms a third pillar and they all bring a good experience, despite the short journey in the game.
The game does not have voice acting, but the text dialogues are very simple and there is not much room to break the rhythm of the game, except for a puzzle near the end, but nothing too complex. Finally, the game does not have much content to be explored again after being completed.
The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature engages live stream audiences
To be broadcasted in live stream, despite its short story format and little interactivity, “The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature” can generate engagement through its art and the engaging way of telling the story and can even create interaction with the public to decide on the choices of the character.
Songs can please the audience and bring them into the scene and make them care about the creature of Frankenstein, even though it’s already a well-known story.
I played the Playstation 5 version and didn’t experience any performance issues.
The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature
Summary
The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature is a good option for anyone looking for a story to read and imagine the scenarios the character goes through, but those who expect a long duration game may be disappointed. The artwork is something worth checking out in its own right.
