The Legend of Tianding

The Legend of Tianding is a true work of art!

One of the biggest surprises I had when I discovered The Legend of Tianding was its art direction which, together with its fun and surprising story with great gameplay, has become one of my favorite games and has added a lot of content to my live stream.

The Legend of Tianding has a well-crafted story and great gameplay length

For those who don’t know, the game is based on the life of Liao Tianding, a heroic outlaw who became known as the Taiwanese Robin Hood for his actions during the Japanese colonial period. This was something that surprised me, as I didn’t know his story and it turned out to be very educational to find out more about him after finishing the game.

Talking about the story and its characters, they are very charismatic and very much alive, with great dubbing in their native language and beautiful scenes drawn like a comic book, which add an extra charm.

The Legend of Tianding

Speaking of charm, our protagonist Liao Tianding is a lot of fun and gave me a sense of lightness with his personality, as well as his interactions with the police and his nemesis, “Captain Bigot”, as he calls him, making for a very interesting adventure from start to finish.

Its story is told and can be finished in around 5 hours if you play straight through without dealing with side quests. If you do them, the gameplay will increase to around 10 hours to complete everything, which, in my opinion, is an excellent amount of time to enjoy without getting tiresome and repetitive also rewarding the player with a different ending, if completed, and this can be considered a reason for a second playthrough, increasing its replay factor.

The Legend of Tianding

Very fluid gameplay, easy to learn and with the difficulty just right

In terms of gameplay, the game is a very fluid 2.5D with its combat very much focused on martial arts, but with the ability to steal weapons from enemies, which gives a good variety to your arsenal.

There are extra skills to be unlocked and it’s also possible to acquire and equip talismans, which will give you benefits such as extra jumps or more invincibility frames, allowing for a certain customization of our hero and rewarding those who explore the map a lot.

As for difficulty, it can be a little high right from the start, until you get used to the mechanics, since the enemies and bosses take a considerable amount of life, but it also has fair patterns that are easy to identify after a few minutes of combat.

For accessibility, the game has an easier difficulty level that will allow more players to enjoy the story.

On a live stream, it will certainly be enjoyable to watch the streamer strolling through the populated streets and varied stages, as well as the frantic combat and creative bosses, allowing pauses during the exploration of the city so that the streamer can interact with his audience.

The game was received and tested on its STEAM version for PC which performed very well, not requiring a very powerful machine and to make matters better the game is translated into 10 languages, which has a very amusing and well-placed translation at times, which gave me a good laugh.

Summary

In the end, The Legend of Tianding was a very entertaining adventure that I’ll take to heart as one of the most beautiful and fun games I’ve played and the charisma of the characters and their story was one of the highest points to bring to a live stream.
