Testament: The Order Of High Human – Brilliant ideas that can not unite for a whole experience

If you’re searching a game which is an single-player action RPG, FPS and metroidvania for your stream, Testament: The Order Of High Human comes up. Testament tries to present us a game in a post-apocalyptic world that we can explore the universe, solve puzzles and get into action by holding on to your sword, bow and spells with your audience.

There are lots of bright ideas in Testament but…

Testament: The Order Of High Human has a big potential to be a game which can be played in a live stream and keep the audience excited. And also Testament includes lots of bright ideas such as it’s universe and gameplay elements inside, but in the end it doesn’t work as it should be.

It’s important in RPG and metroidvania games that you’re always exploring, learning something and bump into new adventures. This is what makes RPG and metroidvania games fun and fun to watch. But Testament lacks of those experinceses.

Th game has a beautifiul universe with an interesting story but in its gameplay, you can’t see those RPG and metroidvania elements and, unfortunatly, this makes even the viewers bored in the end. The gameplay never feels fun and responsive.

Testament

A never expanding experience

Although gameplay reminds us of some games, such as Skyrim, because of it’s structure, and Dying Light, because of it’s parkour elements, Testament’s tempo never changes or increases.

New spells, skill tree and the game’s difficulty try to change the situation, but it just stays as a boring experience. Because of this low tempo, audience may not be able to stick to the stream.

A new post-apocalyptic fantasy world still awaits you

The game does have some problem in its gameplay and being a metroidvania, but if you and your audience are interested in puzzle games, there are some well designed puzzle sequences. But if puzzle’s are not your and your viewers thing, you can be even more bored.

And also, the game fails in replayability too. Altough there are some side-quests and a world to explore, once you played, there is no reason to come back. It’s not like Skyrim’s world.

I’ve tested Testament’s PC version on STEAM in it’s pre-release version and I can say that it works pretty great. Thanks to Unreal Engine, graphics and effect looks amazing. There are some FPS drops in specific parts but that’s not even a problem. It works smoothly and cleaned from glitches.

Summary

Testament: The Order Of High Human has lots of bright ideas to make itself fun and fun to watch but in the end, it can’t put together all those ideas perfectly and turns out to be hard to create an enjoyable stream to watch with it.
