Encounters with legendary figures

The new mechanic of TFT Set 11 is called Encounters, which consist of the appearance of legendary figures from the Teamfight Tactics universe that will grant different effects or change the course of the game.

It’s another mechanic that will add impressive moments of surprise to the matches.

“With Inkborn Fables, we wanted to explore a different energy in Teamfight Tactics and discover how we could transform the party atmosphere of Remix Rumble into something more relaxed, perfect for listening to ancient legends and tales. In Inkborn Fables, the gaming community will embark on an adventure to a mystical, natural world full of beauty, but the unexpected may still happen on the journey. The myths and legends will be revealed through Champions, characteristics, Enhancements, Encounters and much more”, stated Lynda Tang, lead set designer at Teamfight Tactics at Riot Games.

According to Riot Games, there are more than 80 different possible encounters available to players.

In addition to the Encounters mechanic, TFT Set 11 will also bring no less than 59 champions to the game, including two new ones in the history of the auto battler.

The first is Alune, Aphelios’ twin sister. Although she is not new to League of Legends or Legends of Runeterra games, as part of Aphelios’ kit and story, this will be the first time she will appear in Teamfight Tactics.

The other character is new to the Runeterra universe as a whole: Kobuko, a new yordle martial artist.

“One of the team’s greatest strengths is the constant evolution of Teamfight Tactics with the aim of offering diverse and immersive experiences for strategists. We will continue to create themes, content and mechanics to keep the game modern and exciting throughout the year, while preserving the whimsy and the charm that the TFT gaming community loves”, states Peter Whalen, game director for Teamfight Tactics da Riot Games.

In addition to all this, TFT Set 11 arrives with 27 characteristics and 100 new enhancements, new strategists and Chibi Champions.

Set 11 officially arrives at Teamfight Tactics on March 20th, with its testing phase on the PBE (League of Legends’ test server) starting this Tuesday, March 5th.
