STUFFED: Your toys are your nightmares
We all know that assembling with our friends and shooting have always been fun. We played games like Left 4 Dead, Warhammer Vermintide or even looter shooter games such as Borderlands. Those games give you a material to adapt your stream context in a game.
And Stuffed tries to offer you another 4 player co-op shooter experience with a single player mode of course. While the idea of killing toys and the formula looks fun, there are things to talk about it.
Equip your weapons, those toys are not friendly
Stuffed is a first person shooter game which offers both co-op and single player gameplay. What you’re doing in Stuffed is that while you’re protecting a kid’s door, you’re also fighting with enemies wave by wave at the same time.
Stuffed looks fun at first because of its creepy theme and game structure, as we are familiar to this genre from 4 player co-op games, but when we look at the game as a whole, we can clearly see some missing elements to make the game actually fun to play and stream.
First of all, although there are some ironic guns and equipments in the game, using them is not that fun and this makes Stuffed gameplay not as enjoyable as we wanted. The main question here is that why would we play Stuffed instead of the other 4 player co-op games? Well the only answer for question is the theme of course.
Stuffed doesn’t offer something special in its gameplay. Fighting with toys wave by wave while protecting a door sounds fun but it doesn’t work as good as intended. Especially if you’re playing by yourself.
You shouldn’t have to fight with your nightmares
If you want to play Stuffed only by yourself, especially in a live stream, I wouldn’t give you any reasonable cause to play it because Stuffed becomes harder to get joy from it when you’re playing alone. Maybe you have a good humor and you can turn this single player experience to a fun one, but it looks really hard.
Playing with a group of friends on the other hand is great. Although Stuffed main mechanics is not that enjoyable, the game gives you lots of ironic material to make jokes about such as your character, environment and even your enemies.
Stuffed is a good match for who wants to play a chill and humorous game in their streams with a group of friends. In those streams, the game doesn’t matter that much, what happens on the screen and how the audience reacts to it is what matters.
As a co-op game, Stuffed can offer you a huge amount of play time. You can play Stuffed whenever you get bored. And don’t forget to grab your friends to create some fun moments. But the main content may not satisfy you in the end as it is still in Early Access. If buying new character skins is giving you a compassion to play a game, then this could help to increase the play time.
I’ve tested Stuffed’s PC version on STEAM and although there are some problems in terms of running the game smoothly, it works mostly fine. I don’t think Stuffed will be a problem even if it’s still in Early Access. But it still needs some enhancements in animations, AI and frame rate.
STUFFED
Summary
Stuffed offers to you and your audience a humorous game experience which is both playable as co-op and singleplayer. If you’re searching for a game with an interesting theme and you want to play a game with your friends in your stream, it will be a nice choice. But as a whole, Stuffed lacks of lots of specs to be a great game.
