“Streamer Bowl IV”: Twitch promotes special Fortnite tournament
There’s a lot more to Super Bowl week than football, and for the 4th year in a row, Twitch will host a special “Fortnite” tournament during the NFL Championship Finals period: the “Streamer Bowl”.
The “Streamer Bowl IV” takes place on February 9th, in Phoenix, Arizona, the same city where the Super Bowl takes place, on February 12th, and which will also have singer Rihanna as the attraction of the halftime show.
In the 2023 edition of the event, there will be 16 teams, made up of streamers and professional NFL players, in dispute for the title of “Streamer Bowl IV” in “Fortnite”, popular free battle royale from Epic Games, available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
The announcement of “Streamer Bowl IV” was made by Twitch itself, in its official social networks, but the names of the participants of this edition of the championship have not yet been revealed.
The entire event will be broadcast on the Twitch Rivals channel, where Amazon’s game streaming platform broadcasts its official championships with streamers and other celebrities.
Twitch’s “Streamer Bowl”
Taking advantage of the hype of the Super Bowl, which is the biggest television event on the planet, Twitch’s “Streamer Bowl” brings together the best of games with the best of American football.
The special tournament started in 2020, in the same format as the 2023 edition: 16 pairs, made up of streamers and professional NFL players. The following year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the championship moved to a remote format with 30 trios.
Already in 2022, back to the face-to-face format, the trios system continued, but this time in smaller numbers: 20 trios.
