Return From Core: Anybody wanting another sandbox survival game?

Mining, building, automation and much more… We are always eager to play another sandbox survival game. Taking our gadgets and set on an another adventure is always enjoyable.

Return From Core tries to offer another sandbox survival experience with its mixture of game mechanics such as automation, farming and more for the gamers and streamers.

Does Return From Core do its job as a sandbox survival title?

As gamers we do love sandbox survival games. I’m not going to even talk about Minecraft. They’re fun and have the ability to attract the gamer. As they can be relaxing, fun and thrilling, they’re perfect for a live stream. Set on an adventure, find new places, use the selected game’s mechanics and keep going.

And Return From Core tries to offer this experience to the gamers and streamers. Build your camp, plant crops, set up automated production lines and prepare for an adventure. With those elements, Return From Core looks like a very suitable game for a live stream.

Return From Core

Down below Earth’s surface, forcing civilization to withdraw deep underground near the planet’s core. And you’re trying to reach the surface again. Take your gadgets, mine, build, automate and fight with strange creatures. You can even get monster girl companions.

The main idea and the main gameplay of the Return From Core works. It has a story that is fun to hear and a relaxing game to proccess. Especially, if you’re streamer who loves to play chill games in your channel, Return From Core would be perfect. Explore mines while chatting with your audience.

On the other hand, as an indie game, don’t expect a huge world, or a underground world should I say, to explore. Aside from the other survival games, such as Terraria or Minecraft, you’re obligated to focus on your main missions and that is a element which can make Return From Core a little bit not boring but a regular one.

Also the other disappointing side of Return From Core is that there’s no multiplayer option right now and those survival games are funnier when they’re played with a friend, especially in a live stream. But for now, you’re just stuck with NPC’s and your monster girl companions. Is it that bad? Your decision.

Keep going through Cores

Aside from the concept, one of the most attractive elements of Return From Core is the atmosphere and art design. Experiencing the underground with a forbidding art design feels pretty good. All the places, character models and equipments look well prepared.

About replayability, as a sandbox survival game, Return From Core doesn’t offer you another survival game with huge amount of playtime, but there’s still much to do in it and although replayibility is not that prior, it’ll work for a couple of live streams.

I’ve tested Return From Core’s PC version on STEAM and I haven’t bump into any problems, except for a couple of tutorial glitches which are not a game breaker. The game works perfectly most of the time, so you don’t have to worry about its performance.

Summary

Return From Core tries to offer us another sandbox survival game experience combining some other game mechanics such as automation, farming and more. Although it’s not another huge survival title such as Terraria or even Stardew Valley, with its interesting concept and relaxing gameplay, it could be a nice choice.
