PirateSoftware sets new record on Twitch
Breaking records on Twitch nowadays can be a difficult task and it is certainly something for the big names in streaming today. And for the American streamer PirateSoftware, a new milestone was achieved and it is historic.
Just a few days after Twitch introduced new rewards for level 100 of the Hype Train, an event that is initiated after great audience activity (bits, channel subscriptions, etc.), PirateSoftware achieved the milestone for the first time in the platform’s history, establishing a new record for the event category (which was already his).
In a broadcast on April 1st (no, it’s not a lie), Jason Hall, PirateSoftware’s given name, reached level 106 on the Hype Train, surpassing the platform’s previous record, which was also his, of 55 levels.
With this, everyone who participated in the record-breaking broadcast will receive the new KappaInifinite emote. The streamer warned that the emote will soon be available, but that it might take a while as the platform is struggling with high demand.
PirateSoftware’s earnings from the record-breaking livestream
At this point, you must be asking yourself: and what did PirateSoftware gain from this record-breaking live stream? Well, that’s easy to answer: a lot of money.
It is worth remembering that the Hype Train is started after the audience’s activities on the channel, whether through subscriptions or donations of Bits, Twitch’s “currency”.
With a record audience of 54.8 thousand viewers on its livestream on April 1st, PirateSoftware obtained 8.2 million Bits and 54.3 thousand gift registrations. As a result, according to the website StreamsCharts, the streamer’s revenue from this record-breaking broadcast alone was more than 84 thousand dollars.
With the high number of Bits received, PirateSoftware jumped in the Twitch rankings and is now the second streamer with the highest number of Bits received in 2024, with a total of 14.33 million Bits, behind only Caseoh, who has 15.70 million Bits so far in 2024.
