If you haven’t heard about Palworld yet, then you probably haven’t accessed the internet in the last 3 days, as nothing else is being talked about on social media and gaming news sites around the world.

And it’s no wonder: since its launch, last Friday (19), Palworld has already sold more than 5 million copies and broken records on Steam, despite still being in Early Access, that is, still with some bugs and unfinished elements.

The game, nicknamed “Pokémon with guns”, was also released on Xbox Game Pass, which contributed greatly to reaching an incredible number of players in just 3 days.

Palworld’s success

Mixing adventure, survival and capturing creatures, it is quite easy to see that titles like Ark and Pokémon are Palworld’s sources of inspiration. And it is in this mix that the game’s success lies.

On the game’s official page on X (formerly Twitter), Pocketpair developers celebrated the achievement of 5 million copies sold in just 3 days.

The milestone is impressive and rivals other extremely popular titles from AAA developers.

On Steam, Palworld’s success is also impressive. Despite being available on Xbox Game Pass, the game quickly rose to the top of Steam’s most popular games list, breaking records along the way.

With 1,291,967 concurrent players (this number is still growing), Palworld became the paid game with the second highest number of simultaneous players in the history of the Valve store, the main PC games store today.

Above Palworld is only PUBG, which in 2018 reached 3.2 million concurrent players before becoming a free-to-play game in 2022.

Other platforms

With the immense popularity of Palworld, of course everyone wants a piece of this success and many are already questioning and asking for the game to be released on other platforms, especially PlayStation consoles.

Currently, Palworld is only available on PC and Xbox consoles.
