Overwatch 2 Season 7

Overwatch 2: Check out what’s new in Season 7

If you play and livestream Overwatch 2, you can now prepare yourself: Season 7 of Blizzard’s FPS has been officially announced, with the title Rise of Darkness, and arrives inspired by Halloween and full of new features, with a new game mode and a new map, as well as a rework on one of players’ favorite characters: Sombra

In a video published this Wednesday (04), Blizzard confirmed the news of the new season of Overwatch 2, which will start on October 10th and will bring a collaboration that players have been waiting for, with the game Diablo, another franchise of success from the developer.

Overwatch 2 in Sanctuary

The Halloween atmosphere will take over Overwatch 2, thanks to the Halloween Terror event, which returns to the game in its two versions (Junkestein’s Revenge and The Wrath of the Bride), and the new special mode, in collaboration with the Diablo franchise : Trials of Sanctuary.

Sanctuary is the name of the world of the Diablo franchise and Overwatch 2 players will enter this universe in a cooperative survival mode, with several challenging bosses and the possibility of unlocking a new look for Moira: Moira Lilith, inspired by the main villain of the game Diablo 4.

The Halloween theme will also be throughout the new Season 7 Battle Pass, with new looks for Hanzo, Soldier: 76, Lúcio, Wrecking Ball, Echo and Ramattra.

Halloween Terror event modes are available until November 1st.

The world of Overwatch 2 will also be expanded with the arrival of Season 7, adding a new Control Map: Samoa.

On the new map, players will battle their way across beautiful beaches, villages and even a volcano.

The Samoa map will be available on an exclusive card within the Arcade menu and will be part of the rotation in Quick Play and other casual modes with the arrival of the new Season. The map will also be in the Competitive mode rotation at a future date.

The new Sombra

In addition to all the new features, Overwatch 2 will also introduce a new Sombra, reformulated to better adapt the character to the metagame.

The new Sombra arrives with a new skill kit:

Overwatch 2 Sombra
  • Opportunist ability has been removed
  • Stealth is now a Passive skill, which works automatically whenever Sombra is not in combat
  • Translocator now automatically teleports Sombra anywhere it is cast
  • Virus: new ability that deals more damage to hacked characters

All the new features of Season 7 of Overwatch 2 are described in detail on the game’s official website.
