Nuke Them All: An indie 2D real-time strategy mayhem
Real-time strategy games like Age Of Empires, StarCraft or Supreme Commander have always been loved by gamers and streamers. Controlling a group of soldiers or warriors while deciding your next move carefully in real time makes Real-time strategy (RTS) games suitable for live streams as they’re not only fun to play but also entertaining to watch. Similarly, Nuke Them All is another indie RTS for gamers and streamers. Let’s talk about how Nuke Them All is suitable for live streams and enjoyable as a game.
Chaos controls all!
Nuke Them All is a 2D real-time strategy game. In Nuke Them All, you will control your squads to process through a war field and destroy the enemy base just like any other RTS game but the main mechanics of the Nuke Them All includes capturing enemy flags and being able to use nuclear bombs.
While Nuke Them All is a fun strategy game, it may not be a game for hardcore strategy players. It’s not an easy game or something but although it has a gameplay that is enjoyable, it still lacks the elements that make other complex RTS games as fun.
The whole gameplay is about controlling your squad and making them conquer the flags while fighting with your enemy or defending the zones that you conquered. There is no fully detailed source control mechanics or building bases etc. You don’t even have a HUD screen to see how many soldiers you have.
As I said before, the gameplay still works. Controlling your squads, capturing the flags, and launching a nuke bomb is fun! But only if you’re not a strategy gamer. I don’t think a gamer who is interested in RTS games would play Nuke Them All for hours.
Is Nuke Them All suitable for live stream? The answer is both yes and no. First of all, you need to enjoy the game, and then create fun moments in live streams. It’s hard to say that Nuke Them All is one of the best RTS in the sector, it’s also hard to say that you will be having a good time playing it.
Still, the game and its mechanics work well and if you’re searching for a real-time strategy game closely resembling a mobile game, Nuke Them All is still playable for you.
Nuke Them All has a 2D art style but at what cost?
Since it’s a strategy game, I’m not going to talk about its story or tell you that you should expect a story in the first place. Instead, I need to talk about the game’s art design as it’s a little bit of a problem.
Nuke Them All doesn’t look bad. Drawings, effects and props looks nice but the problem is it’s hard to see or choose your squads and objectives above the map. The characters or bases that you move look same as the map and that creates confusion while playing. This problem may annoy some of the gamers and streamers that play it as well as the audience watching them.
About replayability, Nuke Them All offers a huge amount of play time. While you can spend hours in campaign mode which includes 7 worlds, each has 3 to 6 levels at that time, and you can also play bonus modes or sandbox modes. So if you love Nuke Them All, you will have lots of content with it.
I’ve tested Nuke Them All’s PC version on STEAM and although I didn’t bump into any problems like the game crashing, there were frame rate issues whenever more characters showed up on my screen. So I can’t say that Nuke Them All runs perfectly.

Nuke Them All is a real-time strategy game which has fun gameplay though it might seem basic for some of the gamers who love the genre. However, if you’re looking for a RTS game that is not that detailed, Nuke Them All is still enjoyable and would work for streams.
