Monster Hunter Wilds attracts newcomers and veterans
Since the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, the franchise has reached a new audience and broken out of its niche of players and brought many new hunters into its universe. With its improvements in quality of life, more fluid gameplay and greater focus on its story. As one of Capcom’s most lucrative franchises, it was only a matter of time before a sequel appeared. And with that we have Monster Hunter Wilds, which once again evolves its mechanics, gameplay and has more emphasis on the story than its previous games.
Cinematic and focused story
Certainly, of all the Monster Hunter Wilds attracts newcomers and veterans has the most cinematic story, where our main character that we create when we start the game together with his companion Palico are more active and both have voice-overs instead of relying on NPCs to speak for them. This is very appealing for players to be more immersed in their adventure, especially as the character creator is excellent, with several customization options and excellent graphics. It’s very common to spend hours making your character the way you’ve always dreamed it would be. Unfortunately, for our feline companion, the options are a little more limited, but you can still create very unique cats.

The fact that the story is more focused in this game than in the previous ones is both positive and negative. The positive is that we get to learn more about the world and its characters, the ecosystem and the monsters and we have a more attractive campaign, especially for new and casual players. The negative is the limitation this gives to veteran players and the obligatory slow-walking on-rails parts while waiting for characters to talk and this breaks the flow of the game a bit, one moment you’re in a long scene, then hunting an epic creature and a few minutes later, you’re stuck waiting for characters to slow-walk as they reach the next region. For some players, this can be a bit frustrating, especially if the story isn’t the part that interests you so you can jump straight into the action.

More fluid gameplay brings with it fewer challenges
Monster Hunter Wilds has greatly expanded and refined the gameplay of the series, the hunter is extremely mobile, the weapons have received improvements and new abilities, some very similar to the moves learned from Monster Hunter Rise which originally came out for Nintendo Switch.
The wound system is something new in the series, where you can constantly hit an area of the monster to make wounds appear and then use a powerful finisher within the focus mode that will break the wound and reward you with more materials and a chance for the monster to be taken down.

Focus mode is the main mechanic in Monster Hunter Wilds and the biggest change to the gameplay of the series, allowing you to give much more freedom to the hunter’s control, with the press of a button, focus mode is activated and with this you can even during attacks, rotate your character and aim where you want to hit, something that in previous games was not possible, so if the creature dodged your attack, you had to finish the animation in that direction and then reposition yourself to try again. And that’s something extremely appealing to new players.
However, with the hunter being so strong, the monsters also have to be, and this ends up causing a lack of challenge, especially for veterans, where the monsters end up being defeated very quickly and without much challenge.Even at the end of the game and with tough monsters and maximum strength stars, it’s still quite challenging for newcomers, less so than previous games, but it’s expected that new challenges and powerful monsters will be added with future updates.
Perfect for cooperative play and very appealing to streamers
Monster Hunter has always been a series focused on playing with friends. Up to 4 players can work together to defeat a monster that will have its life scaled according to the number of players, the whole group having a total of 3 chances, where each time a hunter is defeated the value of the reward is reduced and after 3 defeats, the value reaches 0 and the hunt fails. It can bring fun moments of combat and attacks that take players by surprise and can bring great clips for those who live stream the game and is sure to please the public.

Monster Hunter is a series that works well for live streaming, because its repetitive gameplay loop works very well for live streaming, with moments of intense action, cooperation and after the hunt is over, that pause for rewards and the streamer being able to stop and talk to their audience.
However, if you’re playing on PC, the game is very heavy, you’ll need a very powerful machine to do a live stream. The game needs an optimization upgrade, because even on powerful computers it’s having some problems.
The game has excellent localization for several languages, with 14 translation options and 7 dubbing options. Bringing great accessibility to players, streamers and their audience.
