Kick: Platform achieves new audience record in January

The year 2024 started well for live streaming platforms and like Twitch, Kick also saw growth in its audience and ended January with a new record for total hours watched in the platform’s history.

According to data from the StreamsCharts website, Kick ended January 2024 with a 17% growth in total hours watched, when compared to December 2023, reaching 132,261,585.

The number is a new record for the platform and surpasses the previous mark of 112 million hours watched.

Despite this, Kick saw a 14% drop in Peak Viewers, reaching 721,450 in January 2024.

The other metrics evaluated by StreamsCharts, Average Viewers, Active Channels, Average Active Channels, Peak Channels and Broadcast Games, all saw growth in January on Kick, increasing between 2% and 17%.

The most popular games and streamers on Kick

With Kick’s popularity growing every month, the platform’s games and streamers are getting stronger and stronger and some have already established themselves in the Top 10 of the most popular.

Among games, of course, broadcasts of online casinos and similar games remain the most popular, thanks to Kick’s policy of completely allowing broadcasts of games considered “games of chance”. On competing platforms, such as Twitch, this practice is prohibited, although there are some streamers who manage to “circumvent” the rules.

Just like on Twitch, Palworld also debuted directly in the Top 10 of Kick’s most popular categories. On the “green platform”, the game, which mixes survival with capturing creatures, was the 8th most watched category, reaching 66 thousand hours watched in January. If we only count games, Palworld was in 5th position.
