Inspector Schimidt: A Bavarian Tale

Inspector Schmidt: A Bavarian Tale – A quirky detective adventure that charms and challenges

Inspector Schmidt: A Bavarian Tale is an RPG game where you play as a detective in the 1800s, it’s a fascinating time full of mysteries and intrigue. By the way, I hope you like intrigue because that’s where the interest of the game lies!

Solve a murder case in Inspector Schmidt: A Bavarian Tale

As a detective, you’re going to have to unravel the truth from the fake to investigate and solve a murder case. But then how will it happen? And especially where to start?

The game begins in a forest where you have to join the city to start solving the murders. Only beware the inhabitants and the characters you will come across are not forced to cooperate with you and even less to tell you the truth.

Concretely this means that even the testimonies are to be verified because you are not immune from a deliberate lie to cover their accomplices. As you can see, no one is 100% innocent and you will have to compare, study and analyze each of the arguments made by your witnesses to know and understand who is telling the truth and the reasons behind the worst lies…

You will receive quests to advance in the story such as picking mushrooms (not easy to find in the scenery), for example and when you finish the quest, you will receive experience points for the skill tree that will increase either your radiance, empathy, intuition, acumen, agility, skill or physical.

Thanks to your experience points you can gain even more useful clues because the more you have, the more you will succeed.

Great concept, bad execution

As a streamer, I was terribly surprised by the concept of the game which is really original. The fact of being a detective is certainly not new but on the other hand the fact of having to question the witnesses and to doubt what they say puts us in little neurotic state of mind where all the looks we cross are looks of culprits!

This is unfortunately the only positive point that I will be able to find in the game, the translation is very bad, the scenery is not pleasant and the game is terribly buggy. I really wanted to try but the game is not streamable yet.

Summary

Inspector Schmidt: A Bavarian Tale has a very original concept, but that’s unfortunately the only positive point I’ve found in the game, as the translation is very bad, the scenery is not pleasant and the game is terribly buggy.
