In August, Kick has a drop in active channels, but gains in total hours watched
Kick continues on its mission to become the biggest live streaming platform on the planet and despite gaining a good share of top Twitch streamers, in August the platform saw a drop in active channels but gained in total hours watched, reaching a new level.
For the first time since its launch in January of this year, Kick surpassed the mark of 100 million hours watched in a month, closing August with 102.9 million hours watched. The number represents an increase of 17% compared to the previous month.
Despite the drop in active channels, which decreased by 44% in August, Kick also saw its average viewers increase, reaching 139,542 users in August, up 13% from July.
The peak of viewers, however, fell 25% in August, reaching 428,938 users, according to data from the StreamCharts website.
The favorites on Kick
With some of today’s biggest streamers under millionaire contracts, such as xQc, Amouranth and Adinross, these names, along with several others, already appear as some of the most popular on Kick.
With one of the biggest contracts in the industry today, xQc lost the title of most popular streamer on Kick to Adinross, taking second place in August.
While Canadian xQc earned 4.74 million hours watched in August, Adinross ended the month with 6.11 million hours watched.

Among female streamers, Amouranth leads by a large margin. In August, the streamer reached an audience of 434,000 hours watched, more than 5x the amount of the runner-up, crystal.
Among games, as well as on Twitch, GTA V leads among the most popular, with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Fortnite close behind.
