Gamecaster: Live streaming software announces the end of its activities

While OBS, completely free software, remains the main tool for streamers to carry out their lives, other softwares competed for the growing market of streamers. This is the case of Gamecaster, which officially announced the end of its activities.

Gamecaster started as part of XSplit, another live streaming software, with the premise of being a special application for game streamers, offering both a free service and a premium service, paid monthly.

In 2022, Gamecaster was again integrated into XSplit, but now, in an email sent to its entire user base, it officially announced the closure of activities for March 31st.

After that day, as announced by the software team, it will be impossible to access the application, since the servers will be completely closed. It is recommended to export all the data necessary to carry out the lives in other software that the streamer chooses.

With many software for live streaming on the market, each with its specific tools and ease of use, the Gamecaster team also recommends XSplit as an alternative for its users, highlighting the 13 years of operation of the software and the millions of streamers that use the software for their lives.

In their statement, the Gamecaster team, to say goodbye to their community, wrote:

“While we are saddened that the Gamecaster journey has come to an end, we would like to express our utmost gratitude to all of you for giving your support and feedback to us through the past few years. While we had hoped for a different outcome, it’s been a journey full of learnings and experiences and we are eternally grateful to our community who helped to always make things better.”
