Fortnite: Ed Sheeran to star in immersive music experience
While celebrating its 6-year launch anniversary with an event full of special rewards, Fortnite will also resume immersive music events, announcing Ed Sheeran as the next artist to star in his own in-game show.
The announcement was made by radio station iHeartRadio, which will organize the immersive musical event starring the British singer.
According to the radio, the entire event was created using the Unreal Engine for Fortnite, an exclusive Battle Royale version of Epic Games’ popular game creation engine, and will take place on the radio’s island in Fortnite’s Creative Mode, called iHeartLand, launched in August 2022.
Everything about Ed Sheeran’s immersive Fortnite experience
Aptly called “A Special Ed Sheeran Immersive Experience”, the event starring the British singer takes place from October 5th and continues until the 9th of the same month.
According to iHeartRadio, the event will bring worlds inspired by the British singer’s songs, in performances recorded live especially for this experience.
The event will celebrate all of his albums, including his next release, “Autumn Variations”, which will be released on September 29th.
All of these worlds, created from Ed Sheeran hits such as “Shape of You” and “Eyes Closed”, will be filled with Easter eggs for players to look for. There will be four worlds with Easter eggs all related to the singer’s career.
Each of these scenarios will be unique and distinct, bringing a specific experience to each song that will be presented by the singer.
To access Ed Sheeran’s immersive experience in Fortnite, the player just needs to access the iHearLand island, in the game’s Creative Mode, using the code: 6144-7573-9391.
Ed Sheeran is yet another major music artist to star in an immersive musical experience in Fortnite. Before the Brit, names like Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, BTS and DJ Marshmello have already starred in their own shows in Epic Games’ Battle Royale.
