Fae Farm is a farm simulation RPG with solo or multiplayer modes for up to four players. Developed and published by Phoenix Labs. Scheduled for release on September 8, 2023, for Steam and Nintendo Switch.

In Fae Farm, we are the newest residents of the island of Azoria, and after receiving a letter from the sea, we go in search of that mysterious person who needs help.

The island that is enveloped in magic, with various mystical beings, is also isolated from the outside world due to the whirlpools that surround it. It’s up to us to help the people of the island as we discover new adventures.

The visual design is the pinnacle of cuteness

Fae Farm has a very charming visual design. Starting with your character, which contains many character creation options.

Your character, as well as all the NPCs, island animals, plants, and everything else that the game has to offer, has cute visuals, in addition to the beautiful animations that the characters perform during conversations and game actions in general.

The soundtrack accompanies it well, with ambient music that very well refers to the season of the year and time of day.

Fae Farm has the best game aspects of the Genre

The gameplay of Fae Farm has a lot of similarities with famous farm simulation games, like Story of Seasons and Stardew Valley.

Here we learn how to take care of the farm, be it by planting your crops, caring for your animals, creating different recipes with what we acquire, and so on.

We can socialize with the inhabitants of the island, buy products with them, make friends, and start romances.

You can help all of them by performing the different quests that the game offers.

One of the main ways to help the island is by exploring its caves, similar to the Stardew Valley ones, where we face several magical beings, but here we also use our magical powers to free the island from all evil magic.

The great highlight of Fae Farm is that, despite being similar in many ways, it does it with perfection; everything in the game is very beautiful, well animated, and of exceptional technical quality.

The game is full of “quality of life”, that is, systems that simplify and make the gameplay more fluid. An example is that we can know where each of the NPCs in the game is at any time; just select him in the character menu, and soon you will have a marker that shows where he is.

When we carry out actions such as chopping wood, breaking stones, cutting grass, and watering, we don’t need to manually change tools; the game itself does it for us, making the time spent during these tasks more fluid and enjoyable.

All menus in the game are very well done, all very clear, nothing confusing. And all this while having a pleasing visual aesthetic.

The game naturally guides the player through some initial quests (to teach the basic mechanics), introducing some important NPCs while still leaving the player the freedom to meet others and explore the rest of the island at their leisure.

Rich in content, whether solo or coop

The game can be enjoyed alone or with up to three other friends. You can summon them into your world or enter someone else’s world.

You and the other players just need to create a Phoenix Labs account, which is very practical and quick to do.

When together, your friends can help with just about every task, from tending to animals, harvesting, exploring dungeons, and the like.

Fae Farm is a great game to play on Livestream

For this review, the PC/Steam version was analyzed.

We played with maximum settings, and the game worked very well throughout gameplay.

Fae Farm contains many graphical configuration options, so it can be configured according to the streamer’s needs.

In addition, it also has a visual accessibility option for color blindness.

It also has many language localizations, including the neutral pronoun options.

Fae Farm is a great game to play on a live stream, as these types of farm simulation games are very easy to play on automatic while chatting.
