Developed by Black Salt Games and published by Team 17, The Pale Reach is DREDGE’s first paid DLC that adds about 2-3 hours of content within a new region that has emerged in the southern icy waters. Among these glaciers, we will search for a group of sailors who left in search of a hidden treasure, discovering new mysteries and dangerous sea creatures.

This new quest can be accessed anytime in the main campaign and will require us to perform various tasks for the local population, introducing us to the new region and requiring to modify our ship to navigate smoothly between the icebergs.

The Pale Reach is short but rich in content

The Pale Reach adds 4 new pieces of equipment and 11 new species of fish and crabs, for this reason it is advisable to start the adventure before the end of the base game so you can make the most of all the new content.

Once we complete this DLC, we will receive as a reward some artifacts that can make it easier to collect fish faster, which can be very useful if we have not yet finished the main story.

To make our way through the icebergs of this dangerous new region we will need to improve our boat by adding a new tool: the icebreaker. Thanks to it, we can break any icy obstacle and move easily in these cold waters. The collected ice can also be used to keep the load fresh for longer.

The gameplay of DREDGE remains basically the same even with the addition of this expansion. In between each quest, we will be engaged in our usual daily fishing activities. However, it will not be very relaxing, since we will often be hunted by a monstrous marine creature from which we can only escape by depositing baits in the water.

It is therefore recommended to improve the ship and its equipment before navigating through the waters of this new region, since you have to be quite fast if you want to successfully escape without taking damages.

In addition, we will often find ourselves in the midst of sudden snowstorms that can restrict our visibility, especially at night time.
