Diablo 4: Season 4 is officially delayed

Diablo 4 players will have to stay a little longer in the game’s current season, Season 3, called the Season of the Construct, as Blizzard, developer of the popular franchise, announced the postponement of Season 4, which arrives almost a month later than initially planned.

The announcement, which divided opinions among players, was made during the Campfire Chat, held this Wednesday (20) and which also revealed what we can expect from Season 4 of Diablo 4.

“We’re pushing it back a few weeks to ensure that we get all of the feedback from this PTR and we apply it to Season 4 to make sure that all of these new system changes that we’re doing are right and work for the community based off of everyone’s feedback,” said Adam Fletcher, Diablo community lead.

What to expect from the Season 4 of Diablo 4

The main change presented for Season 4 of Diablo 4 is in the items, which now appear in fewer numbers but will be of greater importance to the player and the creation of their character, with better attributes, reducing the amount of “trash” carried by players during exploration in Sanctuary.

Blizzard also announced a new way to add attributes to items: Tempering. Now, defeated enemies will drop Tempering Manuals, which have various types of attributes around a theme, such as movement speed or types of spells. These attributes will be added to items randomly at the Blacksmith and can be replayed up to the item’s maximum durability.

Once the player finds or improves an item (with Tempering) that they like, they can work on improving its attributes with Masterworking, another form of item improvement to be introduced in Season 4 of the game. There are a total of 12 Masterworking ranks, improving the item’s attributes significantly every 4 ranks.

These changes will replace the current improvement system in Diablo 4, bringing greater customization power to players, and will soon be available on the PTR, the game’s test server. Details for accessing the new features on the test server will be made available next week.

The Season of the Construct

With the postponement of Season 4 of Diablo 4, the current season, Season of the Construct, continues for a few more weeks.

In addition to introducing the Construct, a game companion that helps the character in his battles, whether with attacks or help in defense, Season 3 also introduced the change of classes and new items.

It was a timid season in terms of changes, but the Construct, without a doubt, was a great addition to the game, especially for players new to the franchise, who were able to explore Sanctuary in a more relaxed way with a little help from their battle companion.

Diablo 4 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and will arrive in the Xbox Game Pass catalog on March 28th.
