Deathbound: Another battle system for souls-like games

Souls-like games are indispensable games for both streamers and gamers. They’re challenging, hard and enjoyable. Know your place, build and enemies. Playing and watching souls-like games always gets people excited.

And in the last couple of years, lots of souls-like games came out and Deathbound is one of them. What makes Deathbound worth to play in a live stream or does it?

Be ready for fighting in the brutal world of Deathbound

Deathbound is another souls-like game. In a souls-like game you’re basically fighting with your enemies carefully, and if you die, you’re starting in the latest checkpoint you had earlier that is not that close to you.

Deathbound offers us a universe which is a medieval world forged from the ruins of technology and a well built souls-like gameplay. Fighting with your enemies is fun and the game feels like you’re playing any other souls-like game, but why would you choose Deathbound?

As you know, there are lots of souls-like game options aside from From Software’s titles, such as Lies Of P, Black Myth: Wu Kong… and why would you play Deathbound instead of them in your live stream? There are both positive and negative answers for that question.

First of all, Deathbound works in terms of being a souls-like game. It’s hard, the level desing is similar to souls games and other systems, such as inventory or character upgrading system, is working like a souls game.

But I think one of the most important elements of Deathbound is that you can play 4 different character styles, such as heavy or assassin class, at the same time and that aparts itself from other souls games.

As it’s an another similiar souls-like experience and not a bad choice for a livestream, it also comes with a enjoyable fighting system. The only problem with the Deathbound is that there are still some points needed to be polished, such as the AI and improvements on the gameplay elements.

Deathbound is a fun indie souls-like game but in the demo version, there are still some points that need to be improved and that would be a negative side for you, especially if you’re a souls-like streamer. Deathbound probably will not satisfy you as a souls-like game at least in its demo version.

By the breath, the war and the peace

Deathbound brings us a good looking and interesting world and introduces its story. ‘’The Church of Death stands at the gates of the grand city of Akratya.’’

Although we can not experience the full story of Deathbound as only its demo is available right now, but I can say that Deathbound’s world and the story they look interesting and worth to check them out. Of course a souls-like game’s story is not the main element and I wouldn’t recommend it for its story, but Deathbound’s universe still looks interesting.

As Deathbound is still in the demo version, its hard to talk about its replayability but I assume that it’ll offer you enough play time as it is a souls-like game. You will probably stuck on some bosses and try to find the right build for yourself in the full release.

Performance on the other hand, I’ve tested Deathbound’s PC version on STEAM and for the demo version, it runs pretty well. There are some frame drops but the overall experience is good. Problems are more likely to be in the main gameplay elements not the performance, as it still needs some improvements. I’m sure that Deathbound will be a much more enjoyable game when its out with some new updates.

Summary

Deathbound is another souls-like game which offers to gamers its interesting universe and some new gameplay elements such as class changing in a fight. Although the game works by itself, there are still points that need to be polished. It would be fun to try it, but I’m not sure if it is suitable for a souls-like streamer.
