DE-EXIT: Eternal Matters – A lot of charisma with rhythm errors in a gameplay without action
DE-EXIT: Eternal Matters is a game that offers a unique and challenging experience. It combines elements of puzzles, exploration and storytelling to create an intriguing journey. With beautiful graphics, well-crafted lighting and voice acting, how does this 3D platformer perform in practice?
No rest for the dead
The story of the game features an engaging narrative revolving around a protagonist who finds himself trapped in a mysterious dimension called “Eternal Matters”. The goal is to find a way out and escape this strange world.
Throughout the game, the player discovers clues and secrets that reveal more about the story and the characters involved, where it involves looking for various artifacts to save this dimension. The narrative is well constructed and keeps the player’s interest, encouraging him to continue exploring and unraveling the mysteries of the game.
But despite that, the pace of the game bothers you by having several cutscenes where you have several seconds with nothing happening. The pace of the story is also annoying because it is sometimes slow and this can cause boredom for those who plan to broadcast the game in livestream.
DE-EXIT: Underworld of puzzles and challenges
Gameplay-wise, DE-EXIT: Eternal Matters features a variety of challenging puzzles, but nothing so over-the-top as to put off players not so keen on this type of challenge. Each area of the game features unique, well-designed puzzles that require logical thinking and creativity to solve.
The puzzles are well integrated into the environment and story, which can increase the player’s immersion. The game’s progression is based on solving these challenges, trying to offer a sense of achievement with each advance.
Here the game presented some gameplay problems in some areas where the character ends up getting stuck in some object, this can give some laughs to the streamer and the audience that is watching. Unfortunately some end up crashing the character needing to return to the last checkpoint, but at least the checkpoints are well distributed and there isn’t much lost progress.
Another negative point is that the game does not have a variety of enemies and personally I don’t think it’s interesting to have such varied environments, a charismatic character and be limited to a gameplay where the player needs to sneak to avoid enemies without being able to react in some more direct way. This is the weakest point of the game and it contributes to the feeling of boredom in the game.
Otherworldly sounds, interesting visuals
DE-EXIT: Eternal Matters has a striking art direction, with stylized visuals and a very pleasant color palette that match the mysterious atmosphere of the game. The soundtrack contributes to the immersion, with catchy melodies and well-crafted soundscapes that adapt to the different situations and emotions encountered during the journey.
Graphically, the game offers a vast and detailed environment to explore. The scenarios are richly designed, with beautiful graphics and an immersive atmosphere, it is really eye-popping how the lighting reacts to the character, which is worthy of praise here.
And as the player explores each area, he discovers clues, objects and hidden paths that help him progress through the story, not to mention how the game offers very varied environments and does not leave the feeling of sameness. Exploration is encouraged and rewarded as there are extra secrets and rewards dotted around the game world.
These are, without a doubt, the strongest points of the game and this can catch the attention of viewers, as there is a lot of charisma in the characters that make up the plot of the game and the dubbing work is very well done.
Finally, I didn’t find any performance problems that prevented me from running the game and playing normally.
DE-EXIT: Eternal Matters
Summary
DE-EXIT: Eternal Matters is a game with a lot of charisma and a very good voice acting work, but it stumbles in the slow pace of the gameplay and the lack of polish in the duration of the cutscenes.
