Dark Envoy: A great sample of real-time action RPG
Baldur’s Gate, Divinity, Path Of Exile and such RPG’s are as essential for the game industry as it is to live streamers.
Either alone or with a group of friends, going on an adventure full of action or discovering a mysterious universe always feels amazing and Dark Envoy offers such experience, with some exceptions.
Set up your party and go on an adventure
Dark Envoy is a classic RPG with structured isometric action game. Unlike its peers, such as Divinity, here the game uses real-time action, just like the Dragon Age series.
Both watching and playing Dark Envoy is enjoyable. Real-time tactical gameplay is not my first choice in RPG’s cause the more fights get bigger and complicated the more things happening on the screen increases and in result, seeing what’s happening on the screen gets harder for gamer and viewers.
But thanks to Dark Envoy’s level design and real-time combat mechanics, which is also pausable during fights and let you think about your next move, you don’t bump into such problems.
With all its gameplay and RPG elements, such as skill tree, character creation and customization, entering a combat doesn’t feel tiring, on the contrary: gamers can find themselves on breathtaking situations with their audience.
Dark Envoy’s gameplay fits for who loves to play such tactical RPG’s but there are two things a live streamer has to keep in mind about Dark Envoy.
As an indie RPG title, Dark Envoy is neither as big as its kind nor it is as challenging as them (in normal difficulty mode). Dark Envoy offers a more chill RPG experience. And if you and your audience not interested in isometric RPG’s, this game won’t fit into your live streams, even though it has real-time gameplay.
If you want to play a less complicated RPG in your live streams, with a great universe, the overall experience which Dark Envoy offers is pretty good.
Discover Dark Envoy’s universe and try to shape it
Dark Envoy brings us a steampunk universe to discover while tell us its story.
Its universe and the story it tells is much likely to be fun to follow, but don’t expect a big, game changer storyline with an extraordinary presentation and tons of choice to change the story.
Despite having full voiced cinematics, the game’s story does not interacts with players and can result in losing interest in the story from time to time. It does have an interesting universe and choices to make but for me, I would suggest Dark Envoy much more for its gameplay.
The game offers plenty of playtime for an indie game. With the main story and side quests, you can spend 20+ hours in Dark Envoy. I know that it’s not that long for a RPG title but as I said earlier, it is not a hardcore RPG game.
Talking about performance, on the other hand, Dark Envoy does its job pretty well, except for some frame drops. I’ve tested Dark Envoy’s PC version on STEAM and I can say that it works mostly stabled and it looks free from glitches. You don’t have to worry about its performance.
Dark Envoy
Summary
Dark Envoy offers us a classic isometric RPG experience with its real-time tactical gameplay and a steampunk universe. Although it’s not as satisfying as its alikes, for a streamer who wants to set on an adventure on a different universe with less complicated RPG elements, Dark Envoy would be a nice pick.
