Beyond Contact focuses heavily on space exploration and survival
Open world survival games have become quite popular, especially with the success of “Don’t Starve”. “Beyond Contact” follows the same premise, but with more focus on story, characters, and exploration.
“Beyond Contact” presents you with a beautiful introduction right from the start, with eye-catching artwork and beautiful dubbing, captivating both the player and the audience that follows the gameplay.
In the plot, we have three playable characters, each with their own play styles and personalities. However, we start the story only with Quinn Hicks, an elite member called to check the situation of another space crew that is not responding and when they arrive at the planet, it is falling apart and with that, they are pulled by the gravitational force and get stuck on it.
Easy to learn how to play, but a little confusing for beginners
The game teaches you the basic commands quickly, so you will not have much trouble learning how to play. However, the game does not teach you more than the basics, which is part of the idea of this genre of game, and it can make it a little difficult or frustrating for beginners, but it will also always bring a new discovery at each moment and you and your audience can work together to try to figure out how to do something or how to survive in some new environment or enemy.
After all, because it is an alien planet, everything in it is new and different from what we are used to, we don’t know which ores or fruits we should get or which creatures are dangerous or not.
The combat is simple, there’s really not much to talk about it. It’s not that exciting either and ends up being a part that could be a little better worked on.
Cooperative mode will liven up the gameplay and can include your audience
“Beyond Contact” allows up to 4 players to work together to survive and complete the story, allowing more interaction between the streamer and your audience, as you can call friends to play together and unravel the mysteries of what happened on the planet while surviving the dangers together. Thus increasing your engagement.
You can also collect points to unlock new characters and costumes, allowing a certain level of customization. Simple as it may be, this is very a welcome feature and serves as an incentive to keep playing.
The game is translated into ten languages, which may make the gameplay more accessible to more people.
Tested the PC version by STEAM, the game ran well, a few minor crashes here and there at the beginning, but nothing too serious. After starting the game, it ran very smoothly. As long as your machine meets the requirements, the game should run smoothly on your live stream.
Beyond Contact
Summary
Overall, Beyond Contact offers a good alternative for those who want a sci-fi survival game, but it doesn’t have that much innovation in its gameplay, however, the beautiful artwork, amazing dubbing, and online mode allow the game to bring good content to streamers.
