Bay Boy

Bat Boy: Fighting crime and being a sportsman at the same time

Bat Boy is an Indie, side-scrolling platform game developed by Sonzai Games and published by X PLUS Games. Released for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

In Bat Boy, we experience the story of Ryosuke, a member of a peculiar group of young people who go to school during the day and all love sports. But at night, they disguise themselves and use all their expertise in these same sports to fight crime, thus becoming a group of heroes.

One night, everything changes when a fateful event separates Ryosuke from his friends, and it’s up to him, the Bat Boy, to go find out what happened.

Platform game with great progression and level design

Bat Boy is a side-scrolling platform game. With linear gameplay in which we use Ryosuke’s Baseball Bat as our main weapon. With it, you can attack enemies, counter their attacks, and even use it to pass through various obstacles that arise as you progress in the game.

Initially, you have access to some levels, from which you can choose from those currently available.

As for gameplay, it is very reminiscent of the Megaman/Megaman X series: linear stages with a great diversity of enemies, with the stages being very different from each other, each with its own theme, as well as a Boss at the end that also unlocks a new power for Bat Boy by defeating him.

The game also contains some collectibles, such as cassettes that give us access to the songs in the game and allow us to listen to them, as well as some fruits that, by collecting a certain amount, allow us to increase our character’s life and stamina.

Add this to a very well-done level design with a great difficulty curve that gradually grows as you progress through the stages and acquire new powers, which add new obstacles for future stages.

Beautiful visual aesthetic and great soundtrack

Bat Boy’s gameplay is incredibly addictive. Each level is so unique, and the level design is so well done, that it’s hard not to admire the hard work that X PLUS put into creating them.

Each enemy has a themed design for each stage, and the soundtrack of each one fits perfectly, a highlight for the theme of the Stage “Cape of Isth”, my favorite stage and musical theme of the game.

To add to this variety, the game’s story follows a very charismatic mood, with a lot of funny dialogues that add a lot to those who want to bring Bat Boy in Live Stream.
