Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, US congresswoman, is returning to Twitch

The streamers community is quite democratic: famous and anonymous people can create and interact with their audience, whether enjoying a video game, watching a movie, listening to music or just chatting. And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, US congresswoman, representative of the Democratic party from the state of New York, is scheduled to return to Twitch.

Alexandria, also known as AOC, is one of the most popular congresswomen in the United States today as of 2019 and has great appeal especially among young people.

The AOC channel on Twitch was opened in 2020, when the congresswoman gained an audience of 430,000 viewers in a broadcast of the popular game Among Us, whose main purpose was to encourage young people to register to vote.

From there, Alexandria used her Twitch channel to talk about important topics and receive special guests such as Pokimane and HasanAbi. Streams of it, including, quickly became some of the most popular on Amazon’s live streaming platform.

Alexandria’s Return to Twitch

On her official social networks, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced her newest live broadcast on Twitch, which will take place this Saturday (22), at 7:30 pm ET.

It is still unknown what the broadcast will be about, whether it will be a return of AOC to the Among Us game, which the public is eagerly waiting for to happen, or if it will be a broadcast to address some important topic for the congresswoman.

What is known for sure is that AOC promised special guests, including HasanAbi, already confirmed by the congresswoman.

The new broadcast is the Alexandria channel’s first in two years. Her last live stream took place in early 2021, when the congresswoman debated with her audience about the stock market, in particular the values of shares of the GameStop store network and its impact on the market.
