Blue Prince Game Review

A roguelike game with puzzles, along with a deep mystery? That’s what Blue Prince is all about. Blue Prince is an excellent game with a massive amount of content, and I dare say that I don’t think anyone would have the same experience as other people would.
In Blue Prince, you play as Simon, and you somehow inherit your uncle’s mansion. All you have to do is find the 46th room. Easy, except that the mansion you inherit constantly rebuilds itself daily, shuffling the rooms and puzzles (of course) around.
Blue Prince Gameplay Review: A Roguelike Experience with Mystery and Puzzles

Blue Prince is essentially a roguelike. The mansion rebuilds itself at the start of every run. One run is equal to one “day” and players have to choose rooms, discover clues, and interact with the gameplay systems. The best part about Blue Prince is that progress isn’t made by defeating some powerful dragon; it’s wholly based on player knowledge.
The most powerful tool at the player’s disposal is knowledge. There are no unlocks or upgrades. Players are expected to take notes, recognize patterns, and ultimately, think.
What Blue Prince Does Well: Puzzles, Storytelling, and Exploration

There are plenty of puzzles to go around. There’s a constant sense of discovery that’s limited by the player’s willingness to continue. There’s a lot of mystery to unravel, and they all run at the same time. The storytelling is amazing, and a loving touch was added to the lore. The people who made Blue Prince put love into the game.
What Blue Prince Could Improve: RNG Issues and Endless Gameplay

Since Blue Prince is a roguelike, one of the things that I feel the game should improve is how, sometimes, RNG can block progression. I didn’t experience this a lot, but sometimes, the rooms or items may not appear when you need them to, and this can sometimes make the game feel a bit unfair. This isn’t a complete negative, however, as it is understood from the start that this is how the game is.
There’s also so much to do that it could sometimes feel like the game might be endless. But who would complain about too much game, right? Especially if it’s this good.
Final Thoughts on Blue Prince: A Perfect Experience for Puzzle Lovers

Blue Prince is an excellent game and is the perfect experience for gamers who enjoy puzzles, mystery, and roguelike mechanics.
