Torn Away is a 2D (+3D) adventure game which focuses on its storytelling. You’re playing as a girl who stucked at World War 2’s battflefield. Take your audience and be a spectator to this story, you’ll probably need a hanky after that.

Simple but fun gameplay which uses new techniques

Torn Away is a 2D adventure game which has also 3D gameplay sequences. As you can guess, gameplay is not the main feature in this game. Torn Away tries to tell its story firstly. But when we look at the gameplay, there are some different adjustments to increase the tempo.

Just running to the right side of the screen, the whole game would sound boring, and it is. Most 2D adventure games, such as INSIDE, tries to prevent this by adding puzzles to the gameplay. What Torn Away does is adding 3D sequences to gameplay.

Although gameplay itself mostly works in 2D, in some sequences, especially while examining a object, the game runs in 3D and that makes the gameplay more interesting. It’s an important add-on, cause without it, it would be boring to watch, even boring to play. But this helps to increase the interaction with the game.

Torn Away has 3-4 hour of gameplay time, which is actually quite long for a 2D adventure game. Thanks to its immersive story, time flies by, but I have to say that with this gameplay elements, the tempo can drop sometimes.

I’ve tested Torn Away’s PC version on STEAM and haven’t seen any problem in it. It works just fine both in 2D and 3D sequences. Everything looks fine and sounds all right.
