Overwatch 2: Season 10 introduces a new way to earn mythic skins
Overwatch 2 Season 10 is online! And the new stage of Blizzard’s FPS brought new features: in addition to a new character, Venture, the game now comes with a new store that has its own currency, introducing a new way of getting mythic skins that were previously exclusive to the Battle Pass.
New and old mythic skins
Blizzard listened to the community of Overwatch 2 players, who asked for some way to get previous mythic skins, available only at level 80 of the Battle Pass, and brought, with Season 10 of the game, the Mythic Shop and its Mythic Prisms.
With the new feature, the Premium Battle Pass now offers a smaller number of customization items (skins, emotes, etc.) and now offers more game currencies, be they Mythic Prisms or Overwatch Coins (the game’s premium currency).
Now, instead of guaranteeing a mythic skin at the end of the Battle Pass (level 80), another skin is offered. But, by ensuring that you reach level 80 of the Pass, the player guarantees 80 Mythic Prisms, enough to unlock a mythic skin in the game’s new store, according to Blizzard.
The base mythic skin costs 50 Mythic Prisms and each customization level costs 10 additional Prisms, in other words: 80 Mythic Prisms guarantee the complete skin with all its variations.
Choose your mythical skins
Now, Overwatch 2 players will have greater freedom to choose which mythic skin they want to unlock when they reach the end of the season’s Battle Pass.
According to Blizzard, a new mythic skin will be released every season, but the player does not need to unlock it if they don’t want to, they can choose a previous mythic skin or even save their Mythical Prisms for a next season.
Each skin returns to the store two seasons after its release. In other words, if the player missed out on unlocking a previous skin or didn’t have enough Mythic Prisms to do so, just wait two seasons and the skin will be available for purchase again.
It is worth mentioning that, while in the Battle Pass, Mythic Prisms are only available in the Premium version, the player can purchase some of these prisms with real money, with 10 Mythic Prisms costing US$9.99 (check the value in your region).
Season 10 Skins
The theme for Season 10 of Overwatch 2 is “Mirrorwatch”, a kind of parallel universe for the game.
Mercy is the character who receives the mythical skin for Season 10, unlockable in the new Mythic Prisms system. In addition to her, in the Premium Battle Pass, the characters that receive new skins are: Doomfist, Symmetra, Cassidy, Genji, Sombra, Baptiste, Brigitte and Widowmaker.
