League of Legends

League of Legends will receive a Vampire Survivors-style game mode

Vampire Survivors and its style of play known as autoshooter (or also bullet heaven survivor) was a true milestone in the gaming industry, generating countless titles in the same style in recent years. And now it’s League of Legends‘ turn to follow that path.

The new game mode was announced by the developers of the popular MOBA from Riot Games and is expected to be released in 2024, more precisely during the game’s mid-year event.

“After months of work, it’s time to let you all know that we are currently working on our first bullet heaven survivor PvE game mode,” say the developers in a video published by Riot Games.

The new mode is described as something “quite different from the core League of Legends gameplay” but “a little more relaxing than Arena mode.”

“In this mode, you’ll be able to fight against hordes of enemies by yourself or with friends. So whether you’re looking for a challenge, or you just want to have some fun with friends, we want this to be something everyone can enjoy, said Eduardo Cortejoso, developer of League of Legends.

More details about the League of Legends autoshooter, including when it will be released, are expected to be revealed soon.

Officially launched in 2009, League of Legends is inspired by Defense of the Ancients, a custom map from Warcraft III (which would later become the well-known Dota), and became the most popular MOBA in the world.

Its standard game mode pits two teams of 5 players in a battle to destroy the Nexus, advanced across the map called Summoner’s Rift, opening space between the champions and enemy hordes and their protection towers.

The game is free to play and today has more than 160 champions available, each with different skills and gameplay.
