Breakers Collection

Breakers Collection: reviving a fighting classic!

Lately, the fighting games niche is booming with several releases very close on the horizon, such as “Street Fighter 6 from Capcom, “Tekken 8 from Bandai Namco and some others still without any date or year of forecast for its release, such as the long-awaited “Project L from Riot Games, creators of League of Legends.

In the meantime, QUByte Interactive, a very known and important company in the Brazilian indie scene, ported not one, but two very important games from the 90s, “Breakers” and “Breakers Revenge”, in a collection packed of extras and curiosities named Breakers Collection”.

“Breakers Collection”: classic games with modern features

The value brought by QUByte in this collection of both games is really impressive, even with its gameplay being perfectly paired with the original arcade versions, the collection still brings several game modes such as the classic Arcade Mode, a training mode that wasn’t available in the original games and unexpectedly brought an online mode with Rollback Netcode and Crossplay with multiple last and current gen platforms.

There is still an exclusive mode for the collection called Team Battle Mode, where the game dynamics change completely making the round settings work like a game coming from the The King of Fighters’ franchise, with the famous 3×3 battles, where each player selects tree different characters to play in a match, the only problem is that this mode is exclusive to the offline modes, as single player or on a local versus match.

Here comes a new challenger!!!

As a good fighting game within its niche, “Breakers Collection is a great attraction for streamers who enjoy challenging themselves in an extremely difficult arcade mode, where even in its normal mode (difficulty 4 to 6) reserves a good headache for veteran players of fighting games.

Despite being short, depending on the selected difficulty, you can take a little while to finish the game. What consequently is an excellent attraction for viewers who enjoy watching their favorite streamer suffering in a difficult and challenging scenario.

You also have the opportunity to challenge your viewers to that friendly versus if they also have the game either on your current platform or on another platform, since the game was released for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.

Summary

Despite being a very well-done port, the game’s difficulty may be unbalanced and have a ton of input read and may be a little frustrating sometimes, making newcomers to walk away from the game. Breakers Collection is really recommended to streamers that have a really strong bond with the fighting game community.
